The Silver Darling

“Usually do not leave bad reviews but we were quite disappointed with our visit to The Silver Darling. We felt like the service was quite rude, we were questioned in a judgmental way on the amount we ordered and throughout the lunch there were visible signs that the waitress was annoyed at us for asking help on anything. The food was generally fresh and good but the starters specifically were pretty underwhelming with both the shrimps and scallops lacking in flavor. The breaded fish was also under-seasoned and soggy. Overall we would not visit again unfortunately.”

“I booked dinner by myself here for my 55th birthday. I was traveling there to Scotland and especially to Aberdeen as part of research researching my families ancestors. The food was pretty good, but I was a little underwhelmed. I ordered halibut because it’s my absolute favorite and it was overcooked. I think my waitress after a little while became busy with other tables and I felt like I didn’t get much service and it took quite a while to get my bill. Based on reviews and people talking I expected more. The location and views were amazing. I will say that the sticky toffee pudding was the best I had in Scotland. I would still recommend!”

“My boyfriend and I had a lovely evening at the restaurant celebrating his birthday. Food was spectacular, consistently good from beginning to end. We had the seafood linguini and the tuna wellington (hard to tell which one was our favourite). Also oysters, scallops, crab mayo chips and veggies. We would easily repeat that order. And the service was top-notch: I’ve left a note in my reservation letting them know about the birthday celebration and staff kindly prepared a special desert with candles etc. Not to mention the fantastic views, so hard not to get lost in the scenery while watching dolphins under the sunset. We can’t wait to come around again and would definitely recommend the visit!”

“My absolute favourite restaurant in Aberdeen. Beautiful views, the freshest seafood, and great atmosphere. We got the sharing platter, the food was absolutely delicious and so fresh. We especially enjoyed the whitebait as there wasn’t too much batter, and the pickled herring was perfect. We even got a fab show from the porpoises!”

“If you like seafood, this is the place to go in Aberdeen. It's located on the far side of the harbour where the ships come in so the views are amazing. There's enough selection of very fresh seafood for everyone's taste. We had tuna, hake and halibut which were all amazing. I recommend booking ahead! Also shout out to Abby for getting me a reservation when I screwed up my online booking. I hope to be back”
